What does "converted/closed" mean on Companies House?
The company no longer exists in its registered form on this register, for example because it converted into another kind of organisation or an overseas company closed its UK registration.
19 companies on our copy of the Companies House register at 4 October 2026 have this status.
Last reviewed 1 October 2026.
What it means
Companies House uses this status for a company that has left the register other than by dissolution, for example by converting into another kind of legal body, such as a charitable incorporated organisation or a registered society, or for an overseas company's UK registration that has closed.
The company's filing history shows the document that converted or closed it, and usually the name and number of the body it became.
If the company owes you money
A conversion does not normally cancel debts: they stay with the organisation the company became. Find that organisation from the filing history and pursue the debt with it.
