Alerts: what we tell you and when

We check the companies on your lists every 15 minutes and record what changed. Pro and Team get a daily email, Team and API users can also get webhooks. Turn alerts off in each list's settings.

What we watch for

AlertWhen
Status changeThe company's status changes, for example to dissolved or in liquidation
Gazette noticeA notice appears in The Gazette, such as a winding-up petition or a strike-off warning
Accounts overdue, confirmation statement overdueA filing deadline passes
Accounts filed, confirmation statement filedThe company files them
New financials availableWe have read new accounts figures
Charge registered, charge satisfiedSecured borrowing is registered or paid off
Officer changeA director or secretary is appointed or resigns
PSC changeThe people with significant control change
Name change, registered address change, SIC changeThese details change
New filingAny other new filing

Each alert is marked as information, a warning or critical. Insolvency notices are critical.

When you add a company, we record how it stands now. You get alerts for changes from then on, not for its past.

How and when you hear

  • On the list: we check every 15 minutes. Changes appear under Changes on each list. This works on every plan, including Free.
  • By email (Pro and Team, and paid API plans): one email a day at 07:00 UTC lists the changes since the last one, grouped by list. Each list's email goes to the person who created the list.
  • By webhook (Team, and the API): we send each change to your own system as it is found. See Webhooks: get changes sent to your system.

If nothing changes, we do not email you.

Turn alerts on or off

  1. Open the list.
  2. Open its settings and find Monitoring and alerts.
  3. Use the switches:
    • Watch these companies for changes: turning this off stops new alerts for the list;
    • Daily email of changes;
    • Send changes to a webhook.

There is no unsubscribe link in the alert email itself. Change the setting on each list instead.
