Privacy
Listed as a director or owner? Your privacy choices
We republish what Companies House makes public about directors and people with significant control. How to correct it, and how to ask us to stop showing your details.
If you are a company director, secretary, LLP member or person with significant control (PSC), your details are on the public Companies House register. We republish them to help businesses check who they deal with.
What we show
- your name and any former names on the register;
- your appointments: role, company, and appointment and resignation dates;
- nationality, occupation and country of residence;
- month and year of birth (Companies House does not publish the full date);
- your correspondence (service) address as filed;
- for PSCs, how you control the company;
- disqualification orders on the register of disqualified directors.
We never show residential addresses. Companies House keeps them off the public register, and we do not collect them from anywhere else.
Something about you is wrong
Correct it at Companies House first. It is the official source, and we copy it. Once the register is corrected, our copy updates automatically.
If our copy is different from the register, tell us and we will fix it. See Report a data error.
Ask us to stop showing your details
You have the right to object. Email support@companystack.co.uk with "Privacy" in the subject line. Include:
- your full name as it appears on the register;
- the company or companies concerned;
- your reasons, especially any safety concern;
- your month and year of birth, if you are happy to give it. It helps us find the right records and leave other people with the same name alone.
We reply within one month. We may ask you to confirm your identity.
If we agree, we can, for the companies you name or for all of them:
- show "Name withheld" instead of your name;
- remove your month and year of birth;
- or leave your appointments out altogether.
This applies to our public company pages, our API and our PDF reports. A person whose name is withheld cannot be found by name in our searches.
If Companies House has already suppressed or protected your details, for example because you are at risk, tell us and we will suppress them too.
What we cannot do
We cannot change or remove anything from the Companies House register itself. Companies House will still publish your details. For that, contact Companies House.
