How we use your data, cookies and analytics
A short guide to our Privacy Notice and cookies page. We set no cookies, use no advertising trackers and do not sell personal data. How to use your data rights.
This is a short guide. Our Privacy Notice and Cookies and Storage page are the full versions.
Who is responsible
CompanyStack is run by the business named in our Privacy Notice, which is the controller of your personal data.
What we hold about customers
- Account details: your name, email address and a secure hash of your password. API keys are stored only as hashes.
- Your content: lists, alert settings, webhook settings and team members you add.
- Billing details: billing name and address, invoices, and the last four digits and expiry of your card. Stripe handles card numbers; they never reach us.
- Usage logs: API requests and account activity, used to apply plan limits, show your usage and keep the service secure.
We do not sell personal data, and we do not use advertising trackers.
Where it is stored
Our servers are in Germany (EU). Stripe processes payments. The full list of providers is on our sub-processors page.
Cookies and analytics
- Our website sets no cookies. It uses your browser's local storage to keep you signed in.
- We use Rybbit, an analytics tool we run on our own server. It records pages viewed, clicks, device and browser, and recordings of some visits. Everything you type into forms is masked, and API keys are hidden.
- When you are signed in, analytics is linked to your account email address.
- We show no cookie banner because nothing we store needs consent.
To opt out of analytics, block scripts or site storage in your browser or with a privacy extension. To stop analytics being linked to your account, or to delete analytics data about you, email us.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct or delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, or take it elsewhere. Email support@companystack.co.uk with "Privacy" in the subject line. We reply within one month.
You can delete your account yourself. See Delete your account, or get a copy of your data.
Processing data on your behalf
Where we process personal data for your business, such as the team members you add, our Data Processing Addendum applies.
Data about other people
When you take personal data out of CompanyStack, such as directors' names, you become responsible for it under UK data protection law. Do not use it for unsolicited marketing.
Complaints
Please contact us first. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113.
